Windows Hello: It looks like you have already setup Windows Hello on another account

Sometimes Windows biometrics bugs out. Especially when you installed your computer as a work pc and had Active Directory set-up at first, it can every now simply forget and get into a loop requesting you to set-up a pin before using Windows Hello on the logon screen.

The "Quick"-"Fix"

  • Go to Windows > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options
  • Remove Iris/Facial Recognition
  • Remove PIN
  • Press Windows + R
  • Enter: services.msc
  • Stop Windows Biometric Services
  • Press Windows + R again
  • Enter: C:\Windows\System32\WinBioDatabase\
  • Delete all files in this directory (assuming you are the only user)
  • Reboot system
  • Go to Windows > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options (again)
  • Set up PIN
  • Set up Iris / Facial Recognition

Done!

If you had several users using Windows Biometrics, they will have to re-setup their facial regocnition and pin
